NATUR PARK SCHLERN ROSENGARTEN – ANCIENT CULTURES AND NEW PERSPECTIVES

For many, the striking mountain near the Bolzano valley, is the symbol of South Tyrol. Not for nothing the area around the “Schlern” was declared in 1974 to a nature park and is the oldest of the seven nature parks in the country.

The protected area has been extended to the “Rosengarten” in 2003 and today offers over 6000 acres of fascinating insights and perspectives. To obtain this combination is the basic idea of the South Tyrolean nature parks. The “Schlern Rosengarten” is therefore not only for diverse, intact wilderness but is also a piece of the settlement history of the Alps, as demonstrated by prehistoric finds. In the legends and stories about the Dwarf King Laurin and the witches of Sciliar reality mixes with fiction and myth with legend.
